Opening their 32nd season, Touchstone Theatre brings in two guest companies presenting original theatrical works about what we eat, where it comes from, and what it means to us:

The Little Farm Show, performed by NACL Theatre, and Cravings: Songs of Hunger and Satisfaction, performed by Belle Linda Halpern.

Both shows will be held Saturday, September 8, the weekend of Southside Bethlehems VegFest.Touchstone 1

NACL (North American Cultural Laboratory) operates their theatre company out of Highland Lake, NY; like Touchstone, they produce, present, and tour original plays, as well as engaging in arts education and training programs. The Little Farm Show, affectionately described as œThe Greatest Show on Dirt, is an all-ages musical extravaganza about farming, food, and the environment. The play includes live music, dance, and puppetry as the characters explore the history of agriculture and themes of sustainability.

Belle Linda Halperns Cravings delves into the idea of hunger”for food, love, acceptance, fame, and true nourishment. Presented cabaret-style, the show features Tin Pan Alley classics to pop anthems, contemporary ballads and Yiddish showstoppers.

Described as œSassy, sweet, and rousing, Halperns humorous take on our constant cravings evolves to a life-affirming call to taste the sweetness in the everyday.

The Little Farm Show performs Saturday, September 8 at 1pm on the South Bethlehem Greenway behind Touchstone; no reservations necessary, tickets are free with an open call for donations at the close of the performance.

Cravings: Songs of Hunger and Satisfaction performs Saturday, September 8 at 8pm at Touchstone Theatre; tickets are $25, $15 for students and seniors.
