The Pines Dinner Theatre announces the premier of "Route 66" playing September 6 through October 20, 2013

"Route 66" was written by Roger Bean, the creator of the long-running off-Broadway smash hit "The Marvelous Wonderettes," which has played in hundreds of theaters around the world.

Mr. Bean also created two popular sequels for these four delightful song leaders from Springfield High: "The Marvelous Wonderettes: Caps and Gowns" and the holiday celebration "Winter Wonderettes."

Additional audience-pleasing jukebox hits from Mr. Bean include "Summer of Love," "Why Do Fools Fall in Love'," and the long-running Los Angeles hit "Life Could Be a Dream," the 60s doo-wop musical that received the LA Drama Critics Circle Award, the LA Weekly Theatre Award, and the Backstage Garland Award for Outstanding Musical of 2010.

The show is directed by long-time Pines Dinner Theatre Artistic Director Oliver Blatt. Mr. Blatt has worked on productions across the country, including the national tours of "The Whos Tommy" and "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat."

He has been on the production staff at theatres including Circa 21 Dinner Playhouse, Lakes Region Summer Theatre, American Entertainment Productions, and Star of the Day Event Productions.

Most recently, Mr. Blatt served as the musical director and orchestrator/arranger of the New York premier of "Tombstone, the Legend of Wyatt Earp."

"Route 66" stars Christopher David Roche, Shawn Patrick Fletcher, Brian Vigorito, and Michael Lawrence Wagner as four gas station attendants who take the audience on a trip down the Mother Road through story and song.

Mr. Roches credits include productions of "Anything Goes," "Meet Me In St. Louis," and "A Christmas Carol."

Mr. Fletchers credits include productions of "Spamalot," "Footloose," and "The Wedding Singer."

Mr. Vigoritos credits include productions of "I Love a Piano," "Thoroughly Modern Millie," and "Footloose."

Dinner includes salad, fresh baked corn bread and rolls, beverage service of iced tea, water and coffee, along with a choice of entrée and dessert. Patrons also have the opportunity to purchase specialty drinks before the show and at intermission.

"Route 66" plays at The Pines Dinner Theatre September 6 through October 20.

Evening performances are Friday and Saturday, afternoon performances are Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday.

Ticket prices are $48.50 for adults, $46.50 for seniors (60+), and $20.00 for children under the age of 16. Ticket prices include dinner, beverages during dinner, the show, and tax. Gratuity is not included.
