Director Greg Morton seeks a cast of 1 Woman and 4 Men, as well as several ensemble members, for Forge's live performance of Guys and Dolls to be produced weekends from June 3rd “ June 25th, 2022. Auditions and live performances will be at Forge Theatre, 241 First Ave, Phoenixville PA 19460.
All Auditions are open to the public and all levels of experience are welcome. Auditions will consist of a cold reading (sides will be provided at the audition); a song (pre-selected and prepared by the actor); and a movement exercise.
PLEASE NOTE: Songs from Guys and Dolls, or of a similar time-period, are accepted and encouraged. Actors must provide their own sheet music for the accompanist. Acapella auditions will not be allowed.

SYNOPSIS:Set in Depression-era Times Square, Guys and Dolls is about a couple of big city gamblers and the women who love them. It tells the overlapping stories of high-roller Sky Masterson, who falls in love with mission worker Sarah Brown, and lovable rapscallion Nathan Detroit, engaged for 14 years to Miss Adelaide, a headliner at the Hot Box Club. Nathan runs a famous floating crap game, and an ongoing plot line involves his quest for a safe place for the game as Adelaide continues her quest to convince him to marry her. Meanwhile, Sarah, mistakenly believing that Sky set up an illegal game at the mission, tries to fight her affection for the charismatic crapshooter. Please note: Forge is an all-volunteer organization. There is no compensation of any kind.

BRANNIGAN (Male, Featured Actor): Lt. Brannigan is the police officer that always plays the patsy and is outwitted by the Gamblers.RUSTY/ENSEMBLE: Rusty is a small-time gambler and sidekick to Nicely-Nicely Johnson.SEVERAL MALE AND FEMALE ENSEMBLE MEMBERS
Please note that all volunteers, actors and staff, in keeping with recommendations by the CDC, must be fully vaccinated and provide proof of vaccination to participate in Forge Theatre auditions, productions and other indoor activities. Masks will be required at auditions, rehearsals and other indoor activities, however when performing actors will not be required to wear masks. All other volunteers will be masked.
