The following audition notice is for Town and Country Players 'Lie, Cheat & Genuflect, a comedy by Billy Van Zandt and Jane Milmore, directed by Keith Kerns.

You may be asked to perform some of the physical requirements.
CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS:
Tom: (30-40) Handsome, with a high opinion of himself. Hes a leader and desperate schemer, although his plans seldom go smoothly. A fast-talking, gambling man who treats his brother Billy as his stooge.
*Physical requirements- has a mustache, must lift & carry Billy with Janes help off stage and up the aisle. Gets water spit in his face. Toss & catch the "baby" back & forth.
Billy: (25-35) Toms brother, always being abused in one manner or another. A romantic at heart. Not the smartest fish in the sea. A bit sarcastic but lovable.
*Physical requirements- He does pratfalls, his legs go numb, he gets hit in head with a bottle, lifts & carries the "Girl" over his shoulder. Tosses & catches the "baby" back & forth. Dresses as a NUN for much of the show so he must be able to do a female falsetto caricature voice.
Robert: (25-35) New attorney on his first case. Anxious, superstitious, with a shady past. Hes willing to act unethically should one of the women be open to his advances.
*Physical requirements “ must be able to play drunk.
Pizza Face: (50-60) Stereotypical Brooklyn gangster. (Can you do an accent') Quick to pull a gun but is intimidated by nuns and has a soft spot for orphans.
*Physical requirements-He is hit in head with a bottle and falls, dragged across stage by Virginia (if possible).
Virginia: (50-60) “ Long-suffering, devoted, man hungry, alcoholic drunk maid.
* Physical requirements- play drunk through most of the show- if possible, drag Pizza Face across stage. Required to sing Acappella - lyrics from the song "My Man", you will be asked to sing acappella at auditions.
Jane: (30-40) Attractive, classy, likes adventure and has an air of mystery. Probably the only smart and sane person in the entire show.
*Physical requirements- helps Tom lift & carry Billy off stage & up aisle.
Girl: (25-35) “ Has a newborn "baby" with her. Sweet, wholesome, naïive, gullible, a bit of a ditz.
*Physical requirements- gets tied up & gagged, her rear end is pinched and she is carried over Billys shoulder.
Miss Mackintosh: (25-35) Pizza Faces VERY sexy "Secretary". She chews gum, mispronounces words and speaks with a high-pitch Brooklyn accent.
*Physical requirements- able to walk in very high high-heel shoes, (if you have a pair bring them to auditions). She has a voluptuous figure that may require padding.
Directors Note I am looking for actors with good stage presence, good comic timing, a lot of energy, in good physical shape who will work well together. The age range is for the characters, not for how old you really are. If you can play the age range required, go for it. This is a great opportunity to be part of a fun show. If you think you are right for a part then come out and show me why I should cast you. The show opens on May 9th and runs until May 25th.
*Men- Depending on the part you may be asked to grow facial hair if you dont already have it or shave it if you do.
*Women- You may be required to wear a wig and/or body padding.
