The Pennsylvania Playhouse will hold auditions for the show 'Steel Magnolias' by Robert Harling, from 6:30-9:00pm on Sunday, January 13th and from 6:30-9:00pm on Monday, January 14th at the theatre.

Six women are needed to fill the roles, ranging in age from 18-80.

All roles require an authentic-sounding southern accent. Please see role descriptions below.

Auditions will consist of reading a provided speech in a southern accent and cold readings from the script. Callbacks, if necessary, will be scheduled for Tuesday, January 15th.

The show runs April 5, 6, 12, 13, 14, 18, 19, 20, and 21.

TRUVY JONES – 40ish. Owner of the beauty salon.Magnolia

ANNELLE DUPUY-DESOTO – 19, Beauty shop assistant.CLAIREE BELCHER – 66ish. Widow of the former mayor. Grande dame.SHELBY EATENTON-LATCHERIE – 25. Prettiest girl in town.M’LYNN EATONTON – 50ish. Shelby’s mother. Socially prominent career woman.OUISER (pronounced “Weezer”) BOUDREAUX – 66ish. Wealthy curmudgeon. Acerbic but loveable.
