Barrett Township (August 20, 2018): The Pocono Mountains Theater Company announces open auditions for the Lehigh Valley production of internationally acclaimed playwright Caryl Churchill’s provocative play A NUMBER, to be performed across northeast Pennsylvania this October.

Directing A NUMBER for the Lehigh Valley production is award-winning director George B. Miller, Artistic Director of Selkie Theatre, an Irish/ American Theatre Company based in the Lehigh Valley.

Thought-provoking, startling, and fascinating, A NUMBER tackles profound questions of identity and notions of "self" as it unknots the tangled story between a father and son and explores cloning and the theory of nature vs. nurture. The play debuted to great success at London’s Royal Court Theatre in September 2002.

Open auditions for A NUMBER will be held Sunday, August 26 at 3pm, and Monday, August 27 at 7pm at the Unitarian Universalist Church of the Lehigh Valley, 424 Center Street, Bethlehem PA 18018. No prepared piece is necessary. Roles needed are: 1 male (a father), 40-60 yrs and 1 male (his son), 20-35 yrs. Actors will be paid for rehearsals, as well as performances.

Lehigh Valley performance dates include: October 9, 16, & 23 at 7pm at the Red Stag Pub in Bethlehem.October 11, 14, 25, & 28 at 7pm at the Brew Works in Allentown.
