Crowded Kitchen Players will hold auditions for the musical comedy, 'The Cocoanuts', by George S. Kaufman and Irving Berlin, originally written for The Marx Brothers, on Wednesday March 13 from 7-8:30pm at McCooles Arts & Events Place, 10 S. Main St. Quakertown PA.
The Cocoanuts will run June 7 “ 23.
Henry Schlemmer is struggling to keep his Miami hotel afloat. His only paying guest is Mrs. Potter.
Her daughter, Polly is in love with aspiring architect Bob although Mrs. Potter would prefer that Polly marry the seemingly respectable Harvey Yates, who is actually a jewel thief.
There will be cold readings from the script for everyone.
Major male roles 25 and older are: Henry Schlemmer, Willie, Silent Sam, Bob, Eddie, and Jamison.
Major female roles, 45 and older are: Mrs. Potter, Penelope and Francis.
Also needed, Polly, age 18- 30.
Also needed are 10 ensemble members, ages 18 and older.
Anyone wishing to be considered for a singing role should be prepared to sing a song of their choice. Please bring sheet music.
An accompanist will be provided. The song does not need to be memorized.
