Allentown, Pa. “ The Pines Dinner Theatre, 448 N 17th St, Allentown, is pleased to present "Phantom of the Opry, a hillbilly who-dun-it" opening June 14, 2015.

When audience members arrive at the Pines, they are transported back to the shuttered "Jamboree Opry Playhouse." Where once great country stars played, the Opry Playhouse is now home only to cobwebs and memories. But all this changes when Mamma arrives, looking to buy the Opry playhouse and renovate it so her daughter, Taylor Swiffer, has a venue to make it big. The problem lies in that there are a few other characters who also want to buy the Playhouse, including Iona Trailor-Trump and a mysterious investor from Canada. As the action unfolds, cub-reporter Buzz Buzzkill arrives to cover the excitement, including (of course) a murder

"Phantom of the Opry" is a truly immersive theatre experience. Guests are all assigned roles and given lines and activities to do during the show. As the action unfolds, dinner is served, allowing guests to analyze the clues and determine who is the killer. At the conclusion of the evening, guests cast their vote for the killer, and one guest who solves the crime correctly wins the coveted title of "Pines Dinner Theatre Super-Sleuth."

"Phantom of the Opry" was written by long-time Pines Dinner Theatre Artistic Director Oliver Blatt. Mr. Blatt has worked on productions across the country, including the national tours of "The Whos Tommy" and "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat." He has been on the production staff at theatres including Circa 21 Dinner Playhouse, Lakes Region Summer Theatre, American Entertainment Productions, and Stars Within Reach Productions. Most recently, Mr. Blatt served as the musical director and orchestrator/arranger of the New York premier of "Tombstone, the Legend of Wyatt Earp," as well as composer of the new childrens musical "Spaghetti in a Hot Dog Bun" and sound designer for "Warp Speed: A Sci-Fi Parody Musical," for which he won "Best Sound Design of a Play or Musical" at the Midtown International Theatre Festival.

Dinner always includes salad, fresh baked corn bread and rolls, beverage service of iced tea, water and coffee, along with entrée and dessert. Patrons also have the opportunity to purchase specialty drinks before the show and at intermission.

The Pines Dinner Theatre has been nationally recognized numerous times for its productions, dinner and ambience.
