Country Gate Players is excited to announce its upcoming holiday production, "It's A Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play." The show will be staged through December 17 at the Country Gate Playhouse, 114 Greenwich Street, Belvidere, New Jersey.

The play, adapted by Joe Landry from the classic Frank Capra film, turns back the clock to the 1940s and sets the dial for a double-dose of holiday nostalgia. This version of "It's a Wonderful Life" harkens to the golden age of radio, and is performed as a radio broadcast in front of a live audience. A hearty ensemble of actors and two very clever sound technicians tell the story of George Bailey, his ups, his downs and his ultimate redemption during one extraordinary Christmas Eve.

Actors hailing from both New Jersey and Pennsylvania are well represented in the show's versatile cast. The Garden State boasts the citizenship of the two leading players. wonderful

The dreamer, George Bailey, is portrayed by Cullen Delmore while his loyal wife, Mary, will be played by Alyssa Horn. Other New Jersey performers are: Vinny Foti, as the villainous Henry F. Potter; Cailla Minerowicz, as the flirtatious but vulnerable Violet Bick and Cindi Halkola, as the Bailey matriarch,Rose.

The Keystone State provides the residency of the story's heavenly interceders. Gary Crivellaro, is George's guardian angel, Clarence; while Colleen Copponi portrays the Angel Superintendent, Josephine. Other Pennsylvania participants include: Doug Lare, as George's father, Peter, and others; Scott Crivellaro, as George's brother, Harry, and others and Alexandra Romeo, as Harry's wife, Ruth and others. Pennsylvania native's also serve as the show's Foley Artists. Wayne Dotter and Mike Wetmore serve-up imaginative sound effects along the radio journey.The show is sure to be a holiday treat to be shared with the family and friends alike.
