At the Shawnee Playhouse, June is packed with comedy, country, music and fun for all ages, including Forever Plaid, Pinocchio, Ring of Fire, A Year With Frog and Toad ¦Kids, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and a cabaret!

June opens with Forever Plaid, one of the most popular and successful musicals in recent memory. This revue centers on four young, eager male singers killed in a car crash in the 1950's on the way to their first big concert, and now miraculously revived for the posthumous chance to fulfill their dreams and perform the show that never was.

Songs include old time favorites such as Sixteen Tons, Chain Gang, Shangri-La and Love is a Many-Splendored Thing just to name a very few.

Coming to the Shawnee Playhouse stage for the first time is Director Morgan Sills, who has toured nationally in all four roles in several companies of Forever Plaid and appeared in multiple regional productions of the show.

He directed both Forever Plaid and Plaid Tidings at Temple Theatre (NC). He is a member of Actors Equity Association and SAG-AFTRA.

Also for the first time at the Shawnee Playhouse, the "Plaids" will be Drew Bolander, Christopher Cherin, Matthew Fairlee and Jack Mustard.

On piano will be Ruth Kochera.

Forever Plaid is by Stuart Ross.

Running June 1 through August 31, performances in June will be 2:00 pm June 1, 5, 8, 12, 13, 15, 18, 20, 26 and 8:00 pm June 6, 21.

Pinocchio will continue its run through June 14. Based on Italian author Carlo Collodis novel, differing from the Disney film version and adapted for children's theatre by Kathryn Schultz Miller, Pinocchio is about the mischievous, animated wooden puppet. It features the Blue Fairy, who rescues Pinocchio and eventually transforms him into a real boy, when he acquires a deeper understanding of himself. Other important characters include the impoverished wood carver/Pinocchios creator Gepetto, Lorenzo the Ringmaster, the Hickory Cricket, another fairy called "Lucky Star," and the greedy Fox and Cat. Pinocchio is especially suited for the younger crowd and the young at heart!

Pinocchio is directed and choreographed by Joseph Ambrosia and features Lorenzo Ballesteros as Pinocchio, Nicole Rideout as Hickory Cricket, Jules Gindraux as Lorenzo, Joshua Wagner as Geppetto /Alberto, Ariana Domeraski as Macaroni, Jessica Hall as Pepperoni, Matthew Trezza as Lampwick, Elijiah Brown as the Coachman, Paraskevi Briegel as Lucky Star, Vasilia Briegel as the Blue Fairy, Ariana Jacobs as Lefty the Cat, Victoria Maichin as Fibber the Fox and Emily Guzman and Angelique McLaughlin as Players / Shadows.

Opening in June will be Ring of Fire. From the iconicsongbook of Johnny Cash comes this unique musical about love and faith, struggle and success, rowdiness and redemption, and home and family.

More than two dozen classic hits”including I Walk The Line, A Boy Named Sue, Folsom Prison Blues, and the title tune”performed by a multi-talented cast, paint a musical portrait of The Man in Black that promises to be a foot-stomping, crowd-pleasing salute to a uniquely American legend!

A Year With Frog and Toad¦Kids recounts the following tale:

Waking from hibernation in the spring, Frog and Toad plant gardens, swim, rake leaves, go sledding, and learn life lessons along the way. The two best friends celebrate and rejoice in their differences that make them unique and special. Part vaudeville, part make believe, all charm, A Year With Frog and Toad¦Kids tells the story of a friendship that endures, weathering all seasons.

A Year With Frog and Toad¦Kids is directed and choreographed by Jessica Bickel and features a large cast of talented young performers!

The music is by Robert Reale Book and Lyrics by Willie Reale.

The show is based on the books by Arnold Lobel.

Opening in the last week of June will be Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Lyrics by Tim Rice.

The Biblical saga of Joseph and his coat of many colors comes to vibrant life in this musical parable.

Joseph, his father's favorite son, is a boy blessed with prophetic dreams. When he is sold into slavery by his jealous brothers and taken to Egypt, Joseph endures a series of adventures in which his spirit and humanity are continually challenged.

Set to an engaging cornucopia of musical styles, from country-western and calypso to bubble-gum pop and rock 'n' roll, this Old Testament tale emerges both timely and timeless.
