The Shawnee Playhouse presents Little Shop of Horrors, February 13 to March 8, 2015.

Based on the film by Roger Corman from a screenplay by Charles Griffith, the play was originally produced at the Orpheum Theatre, New York City by the WPA Theatre, David Geffen, Cameron Mackintosh and the Shubert Organization.

Shawnees press releases writes, "A deviously delicious Broadway and Hollywood sci-fi smash musical, Little Shop of Horrors has devoured the hearts of theatre goers for over 30 years. Howard Ashman and Alan Menken (Disney's The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, and Aladdin) are the creative geniuses behind what has become one of the most popular shows in the world.

"A down-and-out skid row floral assistant becomes an overnight sensation when he discovers an exotic plant with a mysterious craving for fresh blood. Soon "Audrey II" grows into an ill-tempered, foul-mouthed, R&B-singing carnivore who offers him fame and fortune in exchange for feeding its growing appetite, finally revealing itself to be an alien creature poised for global domination!"

Performances will be at 8:00 pm, February 13, 14, 20, 21, 27, 28 March 7 at 2:00 pm, February 13,15, 20, 22, 27 March 1, 6, 8.
