Munopco Music Theatre of Allentown closes it’s 2019-2020 season with the quintessential musical “Gypsy” at the Scottish Rite Cathedral, 1533 Hamilton Street, Allentown, PA, February 29, March 6, and 7 at 8:00 p.m. and March 1 and 8 at 2:00 p.m.

Regarded by many theater professionals as the greatest musical ever created, “Gypsy” is the ultimate tale of an ambitious stage mother fighting for her daughters’ success… while secretly yearning for her own.

Set all across America in the 1920’s, when vaudeville was dying and burlesque was born, Arthur Laurents’ landmark show explores the world of two-bit show business with brass, humor, heart, and sophistication.

The celebrated score by Jule Styne and Stephen Sondheim boasts one glorious hit after another, including: “Let Me Entertain You,” “Some People,” “You’ll Never Get Away from Me,” “If Momma Was Married,” “All I Need Is the Girl,” “Everything’s Coming Up Roses,” “You Gotta Get A Gimmick,” “Small World,” and “Together Wherever We Go.”The production is under the direction of Daniel Petrovich, with musical direction by Chris Hamm, and choreography by Jaedon Muhl.

The cast features Julie Valenzuela as Rose, Jillian Rossi as Louise, Ally Borgstrom as June, Robert Calder as Herbie, Evan Watkins as Tulsa, Lila Schneider as Young Louise, Emily Noel Bellfy as Baby June, Beth Sucro as Tessie, Christine Ebert as Electra, and Bethe Hoppes as Mazeppa. Rounding out the cast are Johnny Bertone, John Bracali, Fred Broadbent, Olivia Byrne, Mary Calder, Todd Croslis, Melissa Dorflinger, Will Elston, Khylah Eure, Noah Green, Darice Hoffman, Tony Kohl, Edwin Lopez, Ali Santos, Don Swan, Rowan Urich, Jaxx Valenzuela, and Samantha Zosky.
