Canadensis, PA (June 6, 2018) - The Pocono Mountains Theater Company’s production of The Amish Project will return to the Poconos with three performances at The Shawnee Playhouse on August 22nd, 23rd, and 29th. This follows the successful engagements in Stroudsburg, Bethlehem, Honesdale and other northeast PA locations. Based on audience response, performances are also being scheduled for Buck Hill Falls and Milford.

The Amish Project is a fictional exploration of the tragic Nickel Mines Schoolhouse shooting in an Amish community and the path of forgiveness and compassion forged in its wake. East Stroudsburg’s Gillian Turner will perform all the roles in this thought provoking and compelling work.

Artistic Director, Brian Long, said: “PMTC is thrilled to join forces with The Shawnee Playhouse. It is one of the most important theaters in Northeast PA and we look forward to presenting more performances of The Amish Project in this storied venue.”
