Reading Commnunity Players (RCP) is bringing an adaptation of the film 'Bugsy Malone' to its stage in June.

Based on the hit 1976 film starring a preteen Scott Baio and Jodi Foster and featuring a catchy, swinging score by the composer of the Muppet Movie, Paul Williams, BUGSY MALONE JR is described as "good, clean, comedic fun."

Two gangs comprised completely of children, square off in a 1920s rivalry of Capone-ian standards.

Dandy Dans gang has gotten the upper hand since obtaining the "splurge" gun (a weapon that shoots whipped cream).

Now Fat Sam and his bumbling buffoons are in real trouble! Bugsy Malone, a one-time boxer, is thrust reluctantly into the gangster limelight, when he becomes the last chance Fat Sams gang has of surviving.

All Bugsy really wants to do is spend time with his new love, Blousey; but that just isnt in the cards for our hero.

Debbi Silas also directed this fun-loving childrens show nine years ago with her assistant director, Luis Pagan Anderson playing the starring role.

In addition, a young actress, Lily Moyer, hailing from Idaho, will be returning to again perform in this 2015 Reading Community Players reprise.

The student director for this production is Juilian Morales; choreographer, Alex Goshert and technical support by Shane Silas.

RCP will be performing this show in a new space, Building 24 Live at 1115 Bern Road in Wyomissing.

Show dates and times are Friday, June 26th and Saturday, 27th at 7pm and Saturday, June 27th and Sunday the 28th at 3pm.
