The Pennsylvania Playhouse, 390 Illicks Mill Road, Bethlehem Pa. is proud to present the stage production of “Steel Magnolias”, as the movie celebrates its 30th Anniversary.

The action is set in Truvy's beauty salon in Chinquapin, Louisiana, where all the ladies who are "anybody" come to have their hair done.

Helped by her eager new assistant, Annelle ( Danielle Tempier) , the outspoken, wise-cracking Truvy (Tracie DeMaria ) dispenses shampoos and free advice to the town's rich curmudgeon, Ouiser, ( Vickie Montessano ) an eccentric millionaire, Miss Clairee ( Carole Silvoy ), and M'Lynn, ( Syd Stauffer) whose daughter, Shelby (Stephanie Walsh), is about to marry a "good ole boy."Magnolia

This wonderful play is alternately hilarious and touching with six female characters that are delicate as magnolias yet as strong as steel.

Under the direction of Gary Boyer, “Steel Magnolias” opens at The Pennsylvania Playhouse on Friday April 5th and will be performed on April 6th,12th, 13th,19th and 20th at 7:30PM and April 7th and 14th at 3:00PM.
