Between the Lines Studio Theatre is thrilled to announce its premiere production for the

2019/2020 season, “Crimes of the Heart,” written by Beth Henley and directed by Kathy

Patterson.

“Crimes of the Heart” opens on Friday, September 6th at 7:30pm and is hosted by The

Macungie Institute Performing Arts and Conference Center, 510 East Main Street, Macungie, PA 18062.

The three MaGrath sisters are back together in their hometown of Hazelhurst, Mississippi for the first time in years. Lenny, the eldest, never left Hazelhurst -- she is the caretaker of the sisters’ cantankerous Old Granddaddy. Meg, the middle sister, left home to pursue stardom as a singer in Los Angeles, but has, so far, only found happiness at the bottom of a bottle. And Babe, theyoungest, has just been arrested for the attempted murder of her abusive husband, Zackery Botrelle.

Under the scorching heat of the Mississippi sun, past resentments bubble to the surface and each sister must come to terms with the consequences of her own “Crimes of the

Heart.”crimes

The cast features Kelly Herbert James as Lenny Magrath, Whitney Pirnik as Meg Magrath, Margaret Wilson as Babe Magrath, Chris Egging as Barnette Lloyd, Troy Brokenshire as Doc Porter, and Michelle Rieder as Chick Boyle.

Five additional performances will follow: Saturday September 7th at 7:30 pm; Sunday

September 7th at 3 pm; Friday September 13th at 7:30 pm; Saturday September 14th at 7:30 pm; and the final performance Sunday September 15th at 3:00 pm.

Tickets are $14 for adults and $12 for student and seniors. Tickets are general admission.
