NCC Theatre Department presents the musical "The Prom"

William Mutimer, artistic producing director of Northampton Community College Summer Theatre, has announced the professional company's first production of the 2023 season.

The Lehigh Valley premiere of The Prom opens on Wednesday, June 7 for a two-week run. This award-winning musical follows four Broadway actors lamenting their days of fame, as they travel to a conservative town in Indiana to help a lesbian student banned from bringing her girlfriend to high school prom.

Mutimer is directing this production, with musical direction by Chad Miller and choreography by Tina Williams. PROM

The cast features professional actors Valerie A. Hill and Marcell McKenzie, both of whom have Off Broadway and regional credits. NCC student actors Lydia Walker and Max Wetherhold, and Michael Mottram, a Montclair State University student who appeared in several shows last summer season, are also among the cast.

The performances are scheduled for Wednesday, June 7 “ Saturday, June 10 at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, June 10 and Sunday, June 11 at 2 p.m.; Wednesday, June 14 - Saturday, June 17 at 7:30 p.m.; and Saturday, June 17 and Sunday, June 18 at 2 p.m.

Each fully-staged performance will be performed in NCC's Lipkin Theatre. NCC's campus is located at 3835 Green Pond Rd., Bethlehem.

Reserved seating tickets are $20 for adults; $15 for seniors 65+; and $10 for children.
