NCC Theatre Department presents "Hand to God" in early April.

In the rec room in at a church in Cypress, Texas, Margery leads her students in a puppet pageant to strengthen their faith in the Bible and evade Satan's hand.

But when the young members of the Christian Puppet Ministry put those teachings into practice, one devout young man's puppet takes on a shocking personality that no one could have expected.

Bill Mutimer, NCC's theatre department chair, directs a cast of five NCC students in this show, that won the "Best New Play" award of 2014 from the Off Broadway Alliance. It was later nominated for five Tony awards, after its Broadway debut in April, 2015.

The April 11-13 performances are at 7:30 p.m., with the Sunday, April 14 show at 3 p.m. The shows will be offered at NCC's Bethlehem campus, 3585 Green Pond Rd., in Kopechek Hall's Lipkin Theatre.

There is no charge for admission for those with a valid NCC ID who make a non-perishable food donation for the Hope Food Pantry. All others are $5. The show is appropriate for high school and older; there are mature themes of a sexual and violent nature.
