May is the beginning of the summer season at The Shawnee Playhouse.

On stage May1st through 10th is the saucy senior scandal, 'Sex Please, Were Sixty!' By Michael Parker and Susan Parker, writers of 'Sin, Sex and the C.I.A'. and 'Whose Wives Are They Anyway''

Mrs. Stancliffes Rose Cottage B&B is frequented year after year by a number of women guests. Neighbor "Bud the Stud" thinks the women come to enjoy his romantic overtures. Her other neighbor and would-be suitor Henry is a retired chemist who has developed a blue pill called "Venusia," after Venus the goddess of love, to increase the libido of menopausal women.

When the women mix up Bud's Viagra pills with the Venusia, we soon discover that it has a strange effect on men: it gives them all the symptoms of menopausal women, complete with hot flashes, mood swings, weeping and irritability! When the mayhem settles down, all the women find their lives moving in new and surprising directions.

Sex please, Were Sixty is directed by Brandon Hamks. Cast members include Stephen Hellman as Bud, Louanne Bright as Mrs. Stancliffe, Michael Gilbert as Henry, Amy Rau as Victoria, Pat Van Varick as Hillary and Sarah McCarroll as Charmaine. Stage Managers are Emmy Usera and Sarah Landstrom.

This show is recommended for Mature Audiences.

Neil Simons 'Barefoot in the Park' opens May 15 and runs through May 31.

Its 1964, and newlyweds Paul and Corie are just starting their life together in a tiny, fifth floor Manhattan walkup. He's a straight-as-an-arrow lawyer and she's a free spirit always looking for the latest kick. Their new apartment is her most recent find-too expensive with bad plumbing and in need of a paint job. After a six day honeymoon theyre invaded by Cories buttinsky mom as well as an aging Lothario neighbor-in-the-attic¦and hilarity ensues¦until everything that can go wrong, does. Paul doesn't understand Corie, and she just wants him to be a little more spontaneous, running "barefoot in the park" would be a start. 'Barefoot in the Park' is directed by Michael Gilbert. The cast includes Emmy Usera as Corie, Joshua Keller as Paul, Marty Courtney as Victor, Sarah McCarroll as Mrs. Banks, Keith Oney as the Telephone Repair Man, and Kevin Hillman as the Delivery Man.
