Crowded Kitchen Players will be presenting the Lehigh Valley premier of their critically acclaimed Christmas comedy/melodrama, 'The Down of a Thistle'.

'The Down of a Thistle' will be playing at Unicorn Theatre in Catasauqua, Pa, December 9 through December 18, 2016, site of their sold-out Irish comedy, 'Pints, Pounds, and Pilgrims' last February.

'Thistle' is the tale of a wealthy man and eight women--- his family, guests, and servants--- who are terrorized in his snowbound Adirondack Mountains lodge on Christmas Eve.

After gifts have been exchanged, and everyone begins to settle their heads for their promised winter's nap, an engaging but deadly mystery begins to unfold.Thistle 2 compressed

Gunshots are heard in the dark hours of the night, and as startled and sleepy guests gather in the family room, it is discovered that one of them has gone missing, without a trace.

At the height of the storm, and as the terrified household frantically searches the house, a nearly frozen and mysterious stranger stumbles through the front door.

The power goes out; phone lines die; and the cook tumbles down the chimney headfirst.

And that's all before the end of Act One.

The mystery and terror are heightened by the chillingly prescient lines of Clement Clarke Moore's 'A Visit from St Nicholas' (T'was the Night Before Christmas)
