Shawnee Playhouse announces a full calendar this summer in the Poconos:

'I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change' is presented in the form of a series of vignettes connected by the central theme of love and relationships. Everything you have ever secretly thought about dating, romance, marriage, lovers, husbands, wives and in-laws, but were afraid to admit! This hilarious revue pays tribute to those who have loved and lost, to those who have fallen on their face on the edge of romance, to those who have dared to ask, "Say, what are you doing Saturday night'"

'All Shook Up' is inspired by and featuring the songs of Elvis Presley. Into a square little town in a square little state rides a guitar-playing roustabout who changes everything and everyone he meets in this hip-swiveling, lip-curling musical fantasy that'll have you jumpin' out of your blue suede shoes with such classics as "Heartbreak Hotel," "Jailhouse Rock," and "Don't Be Cruel."

'The King and I': In the 1860s the King of Siam engages Anna to teach his royal princes and princesses. As the story unfolds, Anna feels she and her son must leave Siam, and makes preparations to return to England. Before she can leave, the King falls seriously ill. On his death-bed the King implores her to stay on in Siam, and the royal children join his plea. Can Anna find it in her heart to leave a country, a people and, most of all, the pupils she has come to love'

'The Emperors New Clothes': Emperor Marcus the Third wonders how he can possibly run an empire when he's only 14 years old. In an attempt to appear more mature to his people, he accepts the credo that "clothes make the man," but soon finds himself the center of a hoax. Who can blame him for getting into a royal mess--only to find that "no matter how grand or small you appear/the person who counts is the person in here!" And "here," as everyone knows, is your heart.
