Bethlehem, Penn., June 22, 2017– The Third Mask Theatre Company will present Chicago: A Musical Vaudeville" for its 2017 summer season. The creative team was thrilled to obtain the rights to the show, which is currently running on Broadway and enjoying a national tour.
CHICAGO's sharp wit, alluring score, and masterful story-telling have titled it one of the most iconic and notorious pieces of musical theatre. With Bob Fosse's renowned staging and John Kander's music, CHICAGO demands tremendous talent from its company.
"The cast is truly tackling this score and choreography as the writers intended, at high caliber," says Nick Conti, Artistic Director. "Under the ritzy music and staging is a deeper and darker analysis of society. CHICAGO explores the way our culture creates superstars out of morally bankrupt characters like Velma, Roxie and the corrupt lawyer Billy Flynn. This is truly a hilarious, upbeat, and cynical vaudeville experience!"
Chicago will run July 27-29 at 7:00 pm, and July 30 at 2:00 pm, at Northeast Middle School, 1170 Fernwood Street, Bethlehem, PA 18018-3099.
