Reading Community Players summer childrens musical will be ALICE IN WONDERLAND, JR., based on the 1951 Disney film.
This theatrical adaptation by David Simpatico with music and lyrics by Bryan Louiselle features updated dialogue and new arrangements of such classic Disney songs as "Im Late," "The Un-Birthday Song" and "Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah."
Their press release reads, "Travel down the rabbit hole and join Alices (Kara Faulk) madcap adventures in Wonderland as she chases the White Rabbit (Alex Goshert), races the Dodo Bird (Sharon Borkey), gets tied up with Tweedle Dee (Nicholas Panase) and Tweedle Dum (Darian Bornmann), raps with a bubble blowing Catepillar (Madison Heckman), and beats the Queen of Hearts (Betsy Lucas) at her own game!
"Directed by Debbi Silas and musical direction of Aimee Deibert, this production will appeal to all ages."
Other characters include Small Alice (Emma Lutz), Tall Alice (Morgan Seidel), Cheshire Cat (James Payrillas), mean-girl flowers Rose (Kat Ziolowski), Petunia (Qwyn Cephus), Lily (Rebekka Schwenk), Violet (Maddie Hoffman) and Daisy (Saime Pineiro), the Mad Hatter (Patrick Phyrillas), the March Hare (Bryn Underwood), the King of Hearts ( Jack Ambarian) and the ensemble of Rock Lobsters/Cardsmen (Madison Kemp, Maggie Perfect, Emily Morales, Jaylinn Rivera and Bridget Rivera).
This years production will have a twist--- Alices Tea Party!
Alices Tea Party package includes luncheon, costume parade and show. The menu includes finger sandwiches, fruit, snacks, punch and tea. Each party-goer will receive a cupcake to decorate and have for dessert.
Children are encouraged to dress up like their favorite fairy tale character. There will be a costume parade to show off their finery.
After the parade, the show will commence.
Tickets are $18.00.
Tickets for the show only are $10.00.
The Tea Party/Show will be held June 27th and 28th at 6:00pm and June 28th and 29th at 2:00pm. The venue will be the Hendel House on Centre Ave., across from Centre Park, in Reading, PA.
Showtimes are 7:00pm on June 27th and 28th and 3:00pm on June 28th and 29th.
