Between the Lines Studio Theatre and Global ImpACTORS Group (GIG) are thrilled to announce their production of the engaging drama/comedy 'Three Fortunes', written by local actress and playwright Tesia Nicoli and directed by Rachel Williams. Show description: Gwen has spent many years burying a heart-wrenching incident that changed her life forever. But now that very incident has resurfaced. When a fortune teller delivers three mysteriously precise fortunes, Gwen can no longer carry on as though nothing has changed. As she confesses to her closest friends - Penny and Jonathan - they are also impacted by this news. When this incredible revelation turns into pure shock, friendship is put to the test. Through the humor of whimsical Penny, endearing Jonathan, and boisterous Lanahan the landlady, an engaging adventure ensues. The sweeping emotions pull you in and take you for an unforgettable ride.
The 'Three Fortunes' cast features Genia Miller, Ryan MacNamara, Jason Roth, Marian Barshinger, Kate Hughes, Whitney Pirnik, and Marcy Repp. 'Three Fortunes' opens on Friday, May 10th at 7:30 pm at the Macungie Institute, 510 East Main Street (Rt. 100), Macungie, PA.
The playwright, Tesia Nicoli, has been honored as a finalist in numerous playwriting competitions all over the country: Centre Stage Theatre, SC; Landing Theatre Company, TX (top 10 of 450 entries); Theatre on the Lake, WV (one of two finalists); Creede Repertory Theatre, CO (semi-finalist); and two honors with Shawnee Original Playwriting Series, PA. Nicoli’s feature-length play, Red Wrench had its regional premiere with Burlington County Footlighters this past April 2019. Kevin Stephany’s review described Nicoli as a “gifted playwright” and called Red Wrench, “powerful” with “impressive scenes” and “pivotal moments.” A wine and cheese reception will follow the performance on opening night. Five additional performances will follow: Saturday, May 11th and 18th at 7:30 pm; Friday, May 17th at 7:30 pm; and Sunday, May 12th and 19th at 3 pm.
