A Shropshire Lad by A.E. Housman has been adapted for the stage and will be presented by Crowded Kitchen Players at The IceHouse in Bethlehem and Amber Connection in Emmaus.
The show will also be previewed at Moravian Book Shop, America's oldest bookstore, in Bethlehem.
A Shropshire Lad, one of CKP's most critically and commercially successful shows, will be performed February 20 and 21 at 8 PM, February 22 at 2 PM, and March 1 at 2 PM and 430 PM at The Charles Brown IceHouse, 56 River Street, Bethlehem, PA.

A Shropshire Lad is a narrative play revolving around a struggling young poet, Terence Hearsay.
The play takes place on a winters night in 1889 in a pub on the Welsh “ English border.
It tells a highly uplifting story about the power of the human spirit to find beauty, art, music, and friendship amidst all the fear and dread of existence.
Almost all the dialogue is lifted directly from Housmans original 63 poems and crafted into conversations and monologues that tell stories, portrays lives, and depict triumphs and tragedies that portray dashed dreams, lost loves, and the looming specter of death. .
The play is not just for lovers of theÂater and of poetry but for all who have become a litÂtle cynÂiÂcal with life. It restores hope, and is a reminder that life is meant to be lived.
