Mountainhome, PA (June 1, 2017) – Pocono Mountains Theater Company announces its upcoming show.
New York comedy sensation Laura Spaeth brings her one-person show, Barely Standing…My Life in Trouble to the Poconos in a wickedly funny, brutally honest play about uncovering the secrets to heal. When her Martha Stewart-esque wedding leads to a marriage of tragic Greek proportions, Laura's Eat, Pray, Love journey begins. Only instead of Italy, India and Bali, she goes to Jersey, Brooklyn and Queens.
Barely Standing...My Life In Trouble is written and performed by Laura Spaeth, and directed by Darlene Violette. The show will be performed Thursday, June 15 at 7 pm, Friday, June 16 at 8 pm, Saturday, June 17 at 5 pm, and Saturday, June 17 at 8 pm at the Dale Snow Theater at East Stroudsburg University. Tickets are $15/$20. The June 17 at 8 pm show will be a VIP performance with all attendees invited to a post-show reception at RAW Urban Winery, Main Street, Stroudsburg, PA. Tickets for this performance will be $20.
Barely Standing had its Pocono premiere last fall as a staged reading at Paiste Pond in Buck Hill Falls. Comedian, actor and playwright Lisa Lampanelli said: "The first time I saw Laura's play, I was completely blown away. For someone to be able to combine such humor and emotion into one package is a rare gift, and Laura has that in spades”. Pocono Mountains Theater Company Artistic Director Brian Long shares: “Laura Spaeth is a fantastic writer and performer; she is one of my favorite artists. I have been in love with this piece since the first draft. We are thrilled that Barely Standing will be our first of many productions to come.”
