Crowded Kitchen Players opens David Mamet's searing political satire "November" on Oct. 7th at the Charles A. Brown IceHouse, 56 River St. Bethlehem PA.
A wildly unpopular president with zero chance at re-election is determined to leave office with as much cash as he can grab by selling pardons, auctioning off White House furniture, and extorting millions from interest groups such as the National Turkey Association and representatives of the Micmac Tribe which seeks to build a casino on Nantucket Island.
When it premiered in New York in 2008, 'November' hilariously skewered the failed presidency of George W. Bush.
In 2016, the play is still frantically funny, but now more foreboding, a chilling prophecy of the likely consequences of an even more dismal administration four years hence.
The cast, directed by Ara Barlieb, includes: Tom Harrison, as U.S. President Charles Smith; Sharon Ferry, as the President's speechwriter; David Fox, as the President's long-suffering advisor; Bruce Brown, a lobbyist for the turkey industry and Michael Thew as Micmac Nation Chief Dwight Grackle.
"November" runs October 7, 14, 15, 21 at 8:00PM and October 9 & 16 at 2:00 PM as part of the ongoing IceHouse Tonight performance arts series.
Tickets: $18, Seniors $14, Students $10 and are available at 610-395-7176,
