William Mutimer, head of the Northampton Community Colleges Theatre Department, has announced the colleges next production of Head Over Heels: The Musical, premiering April 15.
Mutimer is directing this production, which features songs by the 80s rock group The Go-Gos (adapted by James Magruder) from a book originally conceived by Jeff Whitty.
The show is described as "a hilarious, exuberant celebration of love, following the escapades of a royal family on an outrageous journey to save their beloved kingdom from extinction, only to discover the key to their realm's survival lies within each of their own hearts."
The performances are scheduled for Thursday, April 15 “ Saturday, April 17 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, April 18 at 2 p.m. Each onstage, fully-staged performance will be live-streamed only.
Tickets are free for anyone with a valid NCC ID; all others are $5 plus a $2.95 streaming fee. Details are at ncctix.org/head-over-heels.
Lucille Kincaid (music director), Tina Williams (choreographer) and Brett Oliveira (tech director) join Mutimer on the creative team.
"With NCC following all appropriate governmental guidelines, the auditions, rehearsals and performances are utilizing these protocols," said Mutimer. "The procedures we put in place for our first show held in November worked very well, and we are building on that success."
