Touchstone Theatre proudly presents Christmas City Follies XIII, the thirteenth iteration of the high-spirited vaudevillian variety show inspired by the œChristmas City of Bethlehem and the holiday season.
Christmas City Follies XIII will run for four weekends, from November 29 through December 22.
Many Lehigh Valley natives have come to celebrate the winter holidays with a trip to Touchstone for the annual offering of Christmas City Follies. With material ranging from side-splitting hilarity to touching Christmas sentiment, including quirky characters, sketches, and songs, the show promises something for everyone.
This year, Follies includes returning favorites like Touchstone Founder Bill Georges beloved character, The Old Guy, coming to terms with difficult questions in his life; Mary Wrights sweet Little Red continuing on her quest for seasonal happiness; the Pajama Sisters bringing new holiday cheer to unexpected songs; and the immortal Shopping Cart Ballet. The play also merrily lampoons popular television, the stresses and joys of surviving the holiday season, and, of course, the fabled Mayan Apocalypse.
œWeve got a strong team of Follies veterans onboard, and that coupled with the overwhelming talent of our current apprentice class is sure to make this a Follies not to be missed, enthuses Touchstone Artistic Director Jp Jordan.
Touchstone Theatres season is supported by First Generation, an integrated marketing communications company. Christmas City Follies XIII is supported by media sponsors The Express Times and WDIY, Lehigh Valley Community Public Radio.
Christmas City Follies XIII plays November 29 through December 22, Thursdays through Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 2pm. Tickets are $25 / $15 for students and seniors, with group rates available on request. On Thursdays, Touchstone offers pay-what-you-will at the door, allowing patrons to name their own ticket price.
